Mode Mixing

Back in 97 I was asked if I could make a menu for Blitz Diskzine and agreed I would make one. I wanted to make one with something special and decided to use a technique to mix colorful Mode 4 with hires Text Mode 3 which I already had in mind for a text graphics/reader. The result was pretty neat.

At the picture below you can see that the text in the balloons and menu are Mode 3 characters.
